This year’s charity focus for 6Kindness is Emma’s Toy Drive. As the 14th year of Emma’s Toy Drive, we hope to make it a great one. Emma’s Toy Drive was founded by Emma Burglund at the young age of eight when Emma found out that not all children who celebrate the holiday actually receive gifts on Christmas. That year Emma decided to gather her friends and go carolling. The group raised enough money to buy 3 toys and donate them. However it wasn’t enough. “I wanted something bigger,” Emma says, “–something that would have a greater impact, and reach more children.” Since then, Emma and the community have helped donate over 19,000 toys and gifts to women and children who are most in need.
Currently Emma’s Toy Drive is the only organization supporting Guelph’s local Women in Crisis shelters during the Christmas season, which provides for all shelters in the Guelph and Wellington County. Emma’s Toy Drive will be collecting physical donations in Guelph until Dec 16th and monetary donations online until Dec 20th. To learn more about physical donations and drop off points in Guelph visit www.emmastoydrive.com.
100% of your donation will go to purchasing toys and gifts for the Women In Crisis Shelters of Guelph-Wellington County.

6Kindness’s focus this year are the older kids who often get forgotten about when we think of buying and donating Christmas gifts and toys. If you choose to donate a physical gift, here are some suggestions:
- Body lotions and soap sets
- Science kits
- Accessories (hats, mittens, hair ties, etc.)
- DIY Kits
- Art supplies
We thank you so much for your support, and for helping us spread a little more joy, Christmas spirit, and kindness to those in need.
